two, '002' and also known as helena, was an orphan taken into dr. brenner's experiments at the same time as he began his work with one, henry creel.one and two grew close, to the point of being nigh inseparable.when one grew increasingly unstable and dangerous and two stopped performing well under pressure, their place in hawkins national laboratories was 're-evaluated' and they found themselves demoted to orderly and secretary respectively.when one was unleashed in september 1979 and massacred lab staff and child subjects alike, two used the subsequent chaos to make her escape, lucky enough to have been labeled 'not enough a threat' to be chipped or worse.taking on her old name helena and using the fake surname 'ripley', she built herself a new life, just like she'd always dreamed, far away from hawkins. but most recent events in that cursed town have once more drawn her back in...

PSYCHOKINETIC ABILITIES
she echoed a lot of henry's powers *, one of the reasons why she was taken into the project, but failed to unlock that potential under the wrong guidance of dr. brenner.THE SOURCE
the source of her powers is a genetical mutation of her dna following exposure to dimension x.
the date and location of that exposure is not known, but theorized to have happened in early childhood when she accidentally stumbled into a crack between worlds caused by a naturally occurring portal to dimension x.
* this is the reason why henry's and helena's powers are so exceptionally similar, proving the exposure theory for the genetical changes found in both of their dna.

reaching into their minds also lets her manipulate people's thoughts and she can force them to hallucinate. she can twist perception of reality with non-existent phenomena of her choosing.TELEKINESIS —
telekinesis is self-explanatory. she honed the skill, but this is also the ability that was worst affected by dr. brenner's "teaching methods".PSIONIC RESISTANCE —
psychics can resist each other's influence if their will is powerful enough. the stronger one comes out on top, however, and she's resilient.

WEAKNESSESTELEKINESIS — very poor user of telekinetic powers (primarily blocked by anxiety)
EXHAUSTION — overexertion causes mild nosebleeds, while excessive and continued use of abilities results in intense fatigue and even unconsciousness or coma.
ANXIETY DISORDER/PTSD — affects ability to focus and hence perform psychic feats.
CONGENITAL HIPOPIGMENTARY DISORDER — genetical disorder affecting the production of melanin; primarily affecting the hair and eyes. very light blue eyes are hence extremely sensitive to light and will appear red/violet in extreme lighting. easily flashbanged even by mundane things like light reflecting off of metalic surfaces. sun exposure has her go from victorian pale to lobster in five minutes.

COMPLETE HISTORY

CHILDHOOD
presumed to have been born in late autumn of 1948, two was abandoned by her birth mother on the doorstep of our lady's mercy orphanage in saint mary-of-the-woods, indiana, where she was named helena, greek for 'shining light', by the nuns due to her hair and pale complexion. but her strange demeanor and that 'knowing' look her eyes held as if they bored into people deeply unsettled and scared off most people interested in adopting from the orphanage. she would also frequently dissociate and fall into periods of selective mutism, leaving most potential parents wondering if there was something wrong with her. it is assumed that during this time, helena got in contact with dimension x, when she accidentally stumbled into a crack between worlds caused by a naturally occurring portal to dimension x.at age eleven, helena was adopted by mr. and mrs. hill and moved to their home in hawkins, indiana.while exploring her new neighborhood, she came across the creels' boy, henry, who happened to be her neighbor. they slowly bonded over being certified outcasts and weirdos. they knew of each others' powers as they seemed drawn to each other. they stuck together through their time in school and kept to themselves, trying to get through with the goal to leave the town as soon as they graduated high school.while virginia creel was happy to see henry finally find a friend, she wasn't entirely sure what to make of the girl, and seeing no real difference in how henry interacted with the rest of the world, wondered if she might even be a bad influence.when henry kiIIed his mother and sister that fateful night, henry fell into a coma and his father was arrested. helena watched the police, the ambulances from her bedroom window. and when the news reached them that henry was in hospital, helena begged mr. hill to drive her there immediately.
she refused to leave henry's bedside, refused to eat, and, for the first time after leaving the orphanage, prayed. it is there that dr. brenner found the two, faking henry's death and claiming to helena's adoptive parents that she likely couldn't bear with the loss of her best friend and ran away. he assured them they'd look for her, but obviously never did, and so she was eventually pronounced dead (to the world) as well.

HAWKINS NATIONAL LABORATORY
unlike henry, this was the first time she actually put her powers to use. a much gentler soul, she also couldn't deal with the pressure as much as henry did. she was constantly held to the standards set by henry since they were revealed to possess the same skillset as him. they theorized that they both had been exposed directly to dimension x.anxiety further left her fail tests, to the point that even attempting to use her telekinetic abilities sent her into a crying fit. so as henry grew in power, becoming increasingly dangerous, helena grew increasingly more distressed.failing to bring both henry and helena into line and with natural talents a rare commodity indeed, dr. brenner was forced to rethink his approach in his project and began to focus on not wrestling with natural power, but to engineer it in more impressionable subjects (read: children that don't know any better).while brenner still saw worth in his fallen star pupil henry, although now suppressed, helena once more found herself blamed, the 'reason for failure'. so much so that brenner decided to further shame her by starting the new numbering process of the kid subjects at 002.with henry made a simple orderly, given the name of 'peter ballard', brenner essentially demoted her to the position of a secretary, occasionally working in human resources and running regular what he called 'background checks' on people that worked at the lab to ensure the project's integrity and safety. she was also given the most mundane tasks, like keeping the archives. but that she didn't see as much of a punishment. dr. brenner bestowed on her the fake name 'helena ballard' and forced her to dye her hair, so that they would pass as siblings – his way of ensuring immediate reports by staff if the 'siblings' were to get a little too friendly with each other.in 1979, helena used the commotion of the emergency caused by an unleashed henry massacring the child subjects and much of the staff on that level as her opportunity to escape.although it pained her that she got to leave without henry, as they always had dreamed of, she never look back. and lived life thinking henry found his end that day.

(POST) 1979 / 1986
taking on the fake surname 'ripley' (after the movie character ellen ripley—helena had a bit of a 'i have to catch up on so much to be able to pretend to be a normal human being' phase), helena built a life for herself and used her powers of mental manipulation to cheat herself through obstacles like not having any valid id or other documentation or the fact that she essentially started out broke. it took a while until she felt remotely like she belonged and found a way of living that worked for her, even if that meant going back to work as an actual secretary. but she was almost happy. almost.in 1986, usually not nearly as haunted by memories of her time in hawkins, the nightmares and restlessness grew increasingly worse. and when the news of the strange murders and horrible earthquakes broke, she realized why she'd been plagued. she just knew it had something to do with the hnl, even though she did not know then that their operations had been long shut down.against every shred of her better judgment, she returned to hawkins, posing as a psychologist and disaster relief worker to help alleviate the suffering... and to find out the reason for all of this. and ever since she set foot back in hawkins, she's haunted by a sense of unsettling familiarity...
